You know, I didn’t always like snow. I loved it when I was younger, but sometime around those awkward preteen years I decided snow was only good when we got enough to cancel school.
I rediscovered my love for snow when I got to college, but I still had certain rules when it came to snow. For one thing, it wasn’t allowed to happen until December.

It snowed today. First, just these little pellets that looked more like hail than anything, but still got me excited enough to drag A outside and make her take pictures for the ing blog with me. Then those big, fat, wet flakes that caught on my eyelashes while I walked to class. Finally, what looked like a full-blown blizzard, the wind blowing the flakes horizontally. (Luckily, I was in class for this.)
Last year, I probably would’ve complained. Actually, I know I would’ve complained. I was happy when it snowed, but it was December by that point. (The first, to be exact.)
But this year, I was so excited. For some reason, snow reminds me of home–a place I’m dying to be right now. Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, but I’m already counting the days. I can’t wait to see my family, to see K, to be home for more than 24 hours at a time. It can’t come soon enough.
In other news, don’t think I’ve forgotten about the song challenge. (I didn’t post yesterday because I wanted to leave Tuesday’s song up a little while longer… and I realized it was 10pm, I wasn’t home, and I hadn’t blogged yet. Whoops.)
Yesterday’s song was “Cannibal” by Ke$ha. The winner: Rebecca! (I know she cheated. She admitted it. But I also gave her permission.)
